Fall Fashion Must-Have: The Oversized Blazer
Hello, Old Friend! The oversized blazer, sometimes called the "Boyfriend Blazer," is like a flashback from the past (check out '90s fashionista Winona Ryder in several examples here, her Johnny Depp era). It's fun remembering how flattering and comfortable this piece was. I've already picked one up at Zara and could easily treat myself to a second. Here's why else I'm smitten with the long jacket:
You Can Dress It Up: With a blouse or button-down shirt you're ready for the office (as seen in the image above; love that solid turmeric color mixed with the blue stripes).
It Comes in Versions Inspired by the Patterns Inside Dad's Closet: The most common oversized blazer seen during New York's Fashion Week were plaid ones, perfect for fall. This one has velvet trim which makes it even more feminine, and less like menswear.
It's the Perfect Laid-Back Ingredient: Pair a long blazer like this periwinkle cutie with your favorite jeans and you're ready for the weekend.
It'll Keep You Warm: Who needs a coat? Toss a cashmere scarf around your neck with this one and you're good to go on that crisp fall hike.
It'll Make You the Queen of the Party: This velvet piece--its color evocative of a glass of pinot noir--might be your holiday party jacket. Cheers!
What do you think? Would you wear any of these? Let me know in the comments below. I personally can't wait for temps to drop enough to make this a reality for me here in L.A.!
