Yes, please...
What just came out last month could satisfy my dream of not only owning a work of art by one of the greats names of the art world, but also having a handbag big enough to contain my Let's-Make-a-Deal variety of ingredients. What more could a former art history major and cosmetics addict want?
Louis Vuitton and Jeff Koons recently collaborated to design a line of bags and accessories. Yes, you're seeing Da Vinci's Mona Lisa in the image above, and you'll see Koons use works by other famous painters including Van Gogh and Rubens. However Koons, known for appropriating art, created this series as a part of his quest to investigate different ways of seeing (check out his related project also in the link above). Fine art, fine leather, a bit of typographic bling. I'm in. (Image: Louis Vuitton)
But for those of you who'd like to own something more affordable in case that lipstick melts inside during a summer heatwave, here's a great looking, guilt-free option for several thousand dollars less at approximately $20 (probably my more responsible price point!). This is yet another collaboration this time between UNIQLO and MoMA with many other great graphic looks in the line. Art for all!
